An Overnight in A.C., N.J.

This week I’ve had a lot of inquiries that started out with asking “do you book travel in the US!?” The answer: OF COURSE!!  This month alone I am working on getaways for clients who want to travel to California, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Yellowstone, Florida, Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, and so much more.  I thought I’d share with you our S. New Jersey getaway to help you remember that I can, in cases when the resort works with travel agents, help you get away locally too!

My hubby, who is my resident golf pro, golf coach and golf travel expert has an obvious love for golf.  We scored tickets to this weekends LPGA tournament down at my favorite, Stockton Seaview Resort (see my February blog post about this fabulous resort gem in NJ!) and we were excited to go!  I’ve been to men’s PGA events but never a lady’s tournament so was looking forward to it.  The gates opened at 7 AM on a Friday morning though which made me cringe.  Driving South on the Parkway on a Friday is not desirable. Instead, I was able to take advantage of a great rate at the Resort Casino in Atlantic City, which is 10 minutes from Stockton Seaview Resort, to check-out Resorts recent upgrades and Revel!

More recently, the owners of Mohegan Sun came in and gave a much needed upgrade to the Resorts property. If you don’t know, I’m a HUGE Jimmy Buffet fan, so the renovations plus the addition of the restaurants, bar and casino are fun draw for me!  A month or so ago was my first overnight experience in AC (I know, could you imagine it took me THAT long!?) with a stay at the Harrah’s resort.  In comparison, I’d say that the room in the Harrah’s was much nicer, more upgraded and cleaner then the room at Resorts. The room at Resorts though was very large, had a beautiful view of the ocean, and was on the beach front which is most important for me personally for this overnight stay (and always in my life, but that’s a whole different story LOL!)!  If I didn’t want to be on the beach and could have stayed at Seaview though, that would continue to be my top recommendation for accommodations in this area of S. NJ.

King Room – Ocean Tower @ Resorts

Since we checked in for dinner time, we were hungry!  We skipped over Margaritaville this visit because JJ found a wonderful tapas restaurant in the Revel called Amada.  We recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Spanish tapas. It too had STUNNING views of the ocean as well as a fantastic $5 tapas happy hour special from 5-8 PM.   I have to say everything here was done so well.  From the moment we sat down at the bar the service, the food, the view and the drinks were impeccable.  The basil-infused margaritas I enjoyed were DELISH!

After dinner I needed my beach fix.  I can’t be this close to the ocean, ever, and not spend time on the beach.  That’s just who I am!  So a beautiful evening concluded after discovering the beach front of the the Landshark Grill which is complete with a firepit, music, bar, corn hole games and great company!

The next day it took us 10 minutes to get from Resorts in AC to Stockton Seaview Resort in Galloway for the tournament.  The tournament was another fabulous NJ getaway experience!  I can’t stress enough, as I did in my February blog, how perfect this area is for those who want a mini-getaway with couples, friends, golf trips, spa trips, beach and pool escapes.  I hope to hear from you soon on how I can help you book your vacation getaway!

Check out the views of AC from the Bay Side golf course at Seaview!
