Touring the MSC Divina Cruise ship

This week, the MSC Divina made a cruise stop in NYC on it’s way from Miami to Rome providing a unique opportunity for select travel agents to tour and experience this beautiful, Italian ship.

I recently began to learn more about MSC as a cruise line.  They are privately owned by Italians and that shows in the sleek and modern European-design of this ship.  It also shines through the food offerings on board!  I enjoyed a tasting in the world’s only Eataly at Sea, gushed over the ship-made gelato, and had to contain myself when walking through the coffee & chocolate bar!  I worked it all off though during the tour and while walking up and down the Swarovski Crystal staircases throughout the ship. Each step is valued at $30K!  When MSC is in the US, it’s important to know that the currency is USD and the language is English.  99% of the ship is non-smoking.

Although this ship’s look and feel is super fancy, MSC is nothing but family-friendly.  In fact, they are the only cruise line who offers children under the age of 11 to sail FREE anytime!  This ship, the Divina, which sails from Miami to the Caribbean year round starting in November 2015, offers amazing child, pre-teen and teen activities/facilities and an awesome slide. Family Dining Programs are even made available.

The amenities on the Divina were really surprising to me.  It’s a big ship (not mega-ship though) with a lot to offer and a small-ship feel.  I loved that!  They have GORGEOUS pool facilities.  This infinity pool fills during sailing and provides gorgeous views off of the back of the ship.  They even offer Spinning classes in this pool area! The main pool is a nice size and they even have a third pool located in an area outside of the spa with a retractable roof.  The ship also features many bars such as a piano bar, jazz bar, the chocolate and coffee bar and a sports bar with bowling lanes! The spa was beautiful too.  They have rooms with a view so you can enjoy your massage while not missing out on any of the beautiful, relaxing sights when at sea or in port.

Staterooms are spacious.  We weren’t able to tour the Yacht Club area, which provides extensive exclusive amenities and an inclusive-experience, because it was booked up!  This though, this is the area to ask me about when pricing out the MSC ships for you as it truly is an elevated cruise experience!  Perfect for my honeymooners, multi-generational families and anniversary cruisers.

MSC is a great choice for my cruisers.  They are always offering outstanding pricing, especially for Fall 2015.  In addition, we are looking out for a new MSC ship, the Seaside, scheduled for North America in 2017 that will also be family friendly!
